Monthly Writers Night


ROCHESTER WRITERS NIGHT HAS A NEW LOCATION AT MEL FLANAGAN’S IRISH PUB AND CAFE, 50 NORTH MAIN ST, ROCHESTER NH

We have an ongoing monthly Writers Night, MEETING OCTOBER THROUGH JUNE, which takes place on the  1st Thursday of each month (excepting holidays).  Writers may read their original poetry, prose or music.  There
is usually a monthly featured writer, followed by an open mic.  Sign-ups begin at 6pm, followed by the feature    performer.  After a short break, the open mic portion of the evening begins.  We usually end by 8PM.  This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, and to see photos/bios of previous writers nights, please go to the Writers Night page.

SPECIAL SUMMER SESSIONS!
By popular demand, Rochester Writers Night will continue through the summer.
There are two evenings scheduled, Thursday July 9th and Thursday August 13th.
Open mic only, sign-ups at 6 PM.

Rochester Writer's Night Nominated for Literary Achievement Award in Rochester

Rochester Writer's Night has been nominated for work in the literary arts.  The Second Annual Achievement in the Arts Awards is sponsored by the Rochester Arts & Culture Commission.  The Commission will host nominees and guests at a reception at The Garage on Monday evening, August 11 as they present the Awards which celebrate the accomplishments of Rochester artists and arts organizations. Nominees are recognized in the literary, artisan, movement, theater, visual arts, dining, music, venue and lifetime achievement categories. The ceremonies include a reception with refreshments and cash bar prior to the awards and voting for the “People’s Choice” award following the awards presentation. Commission Chair Matt Wyatt will act as Master of ceremonies for the presentations.
